The history of Grupo Lamosa began in 1890 when Compañía Manufacturera de Ladrillos de Monterrey was founded. That same year, the company was bought by engineers Bernardo Elosúa and Viviano Valdés, becoming Ladrillera Monterrey, S.A.

We began production on 1933, becoming the first Mexican manufacturer of tiles, flooring and clay blocks. Additionally, wood was replaced by natural gas in our production process.
The 1990's brought a series of organizational changes with the aim of turning Grupo Lamosa into a company that met international quality standards. During this period, the company name change from Ladrillera Monterrey, S.A. to Grupo Lamosa, S.A. de C.V.

During this year, operations began in the Benito Juarez Coating Plant, dedicated to the manufacturing of ceramic tiles. Important efforts were made to increase our share in the Luxury segment, such as the release of our luxury toilet line "Ambiance" into the market.

The investment plan implemented in our different businesses, combined with the vitality of the construction sector, allowed us to take advantage of opportunities, provide Grupo Lamosa with a competitive costs structure, develop new products and have a cutting-edge technological platform.

As part of its growth strategy, Grupo Lamosa acquired Porcelanite, allowing the growth tendency from previous years to continue, to expand our business base and capitalize on significant synergies.
During that year, Grupo Lamosa continued strengthening its financial structure by significantly reducing the acquisition debt caused by the purchase of Porcelanite. In addition, Grupo Lamosa results grew and share price were superior to that of the Mexican Stock Exchange index at the end of the year.

In early 2015, Grupo Lamosa sold its plumbing business to Colombian company Corona. This sale, allowed Grupo Lamosa to focus its efforts on its ceramic coating and adhesives businesses both in Mexico and abroad.
