Minimalism

Speaking of minimalism refers to a simple and pure style in things; it means to reduce to the minimum number of elements within one single environment.

This trend arose in the 1960’s influenced by Japanese design, where the importance is not on what is included, but on what is left out. Its main focus was on lines where planes were organized based on the concepts of order, simplicity, clarity and industrial finishes.

In minimalist design, open walls stand out of buildings which blend in with gardens and spaces have a sense of fluidity. Minimalism is the search for the limit between the most amount of open space and the least amount of geometry. Additionally, it is worth mentioning its tendency to absolute monochrome, relying on accessories to bring color into each room.

Among the changes brought by minimalism to interior design was the use in flooring of woods and rustic materials like concrete, glass, steel wire and natural stones. On the other hand, furniture became simple and functional, making austerity its main focus.

The designs of Danish brand Boconcept are the perfect fit for this trend thanks to its raw materials and simple lines. Its range of fabrics, leathers and woods are chosen particularly for each one of its models.
